Skip NavigationFike Brothers Carpet One Floor & Home in Yeagertown, PA recently joined with their community to help a local family in need.
On November 16, 2017, Aly Byerly, a beloved employee at a local restaurant in Yeagertown, and her partner Adrian Snook, received the horrible news that one of their four young children - 2 year old daughter Talynn (Tally) Snook - had been diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
Upon further investigation into Tally’s condition, it was discovered that she had a genetic abnormality called the Philadelphia chromosome, which is extremely rare in children, and would mean a more aggressive form of chemotherapy and a longer hospital stay for young Tally.
Lead by Aly’s co-workers at Country Village Restaurant, the community immediately jumped in to help Aly and Adrien, by having a benefit event on December 9th where they were able to help raise $7,000 for the parents and their four beautiful children, Tyson 6, Bronwynn 5, Arian 4, and Tally 2.
Local businesses and individuals donated their time, and items to be raffled off. Fike Bros. Carpet One donated new laminate flooring to for the family’s home to ensure Tally has a clean, bacteria-free home during her treatment and recovery. Fike Bros Carpet One Floor & Home donated the materials and employees Josh Edwards and John Leister donated their time to install the flooring.
This is a beautiful example of what one small group of people can accomplish when they work together for a common goal.
